A Truth Behind Purdue and Hudson Card

ESPN reported on Monday that former Texas quarterback Hudson Card has committed to Purdue. As the replacement for Jeff Brohm, first-year coach Ryan Walters now has a crucial early building block.

In the 2022 recruiting class, Allen was a 4-star prospect out of Fort Branch (Ind.) Gibson Southern who chose to enrol at Purdue over offers from Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Indiana, Kansas, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech. Allen, who is 6 feet 5 inches tall and 215 pounds, played in just one game for Purdue this year and completed one of three throws for eight yards.

Allen was rated as a prospect at No. 223 overall, No. 10 among quarterbacks, and No. 5 in Indiana.

Harrell, a follower of Mike Leach, has used various iterations of the Air Raid during stays at North Texas, USC, and West Virginia.

Quinn Ewers, an Ohio State transfer, defeated Card in training camp for the starting position. Back in the class of 2020, when Card was Texas’ top dual-threat quarterback behind Alabama’s Bryce Young, his decision to attend Texas was significant.
